A delightful and innovative production, based on Kenneth Grahame’s book, takes a family audience on an exciting journey to meet Ratty, Mole, Badger and Toad in their homes and follows them as they pursue the weasely weasels and sly stoats! This production is full of music and dance, starting with a picnic and ending with a dance for the entire audience.
The production was commissioned by The London Wildlife Trust to raise awareness of the declining number of water voles and first performed at Crane Park Nature Reserve, Whitton in 2008.
“The production was outstanding. The unsuspecting audience was led from one surprise to another as they weaved around the gardens, coming upon Mole busy spring cleaning and then to the river where Ratty and Mole performed some hilarious antics as they ‘messed about on the river’ ( in a real boat! ). The main characters were brilliantly played and the costumes superb. The Director was great at getting audience members involved.
A fabulous afternoon, full of laughs, energy and more than a nod towards a classic piece of drama, hugely enjoyed by an audience of over 300 people.”
